Toppers

More to come, but here a couple photos of some toppers I did for a baby shower in September. The cupcakes are chocolate cake with fresh strawberry butter cream and peach almond cake with fresh peach butter cream... And, in case you didn't figure it out, the mom-to-be's colors were bright orange, yellow, and pink, with a touch of lime green.

September

I have been busy baking. So busy that my laundry has piled up, my kids have run wild, and my hubby has felt entirely neglected. I have enjoyed it immensely however! Here are a few photos...

Spooky Cookies, personalized for a Halloween Party. (I guess this was technically October, but you get the idea)

Autumn themed cupcakes. Chocolate zucchini cake topped with cinnamon butter cream. Y-U-M The kids and I snuck a few of the extras before I delivered these...

Lolli"pops" Homemade, buttery, ooey gooey caramel corn, on a stick, dipped in chocolate and rolled in pecans.

Personalized cupcakes for a Senior Living Center.

My own twist to the classic "Snowball" Cupcakes.

Sparkled Strawberry Sugar Cookies with an almond glaze. These went atop some Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes for a 3 year old b-day party. Unfortunately, I neglected to capture a photo of the cakes...

Handmade chocolate butterflies atop fresh strawberry butter cream and chocolate cake.

It's been a busy month. And the madness continues, so I guess I will get back to baking!

Kari and Justin Wedding

One of my bestest friends was married last weekend in a beautiful backyard ceremony. Their colors were red, white, and black. And YES, they are UofU fans, and YES I did spot more than one UofU tie amongst the guests. I'm ok with that though, being a UofU alumnus myself...
Anyhoo, here are some photos of their cupcakes. The flavors are (all with chocolate cake) Peppermint, Cookies and Cream, Fresh Strawberry, and Vanilla Coconut.

PS Stop by and see moi (and lots of the coolest stuff you've ever seen) at the OH Sweet Sadie! store September 17th-19th at SoDa Row in Daybreak.

What have I been up to lately?

Not lounging by the pool. That's for sure!

Custom Tinker Bell Toppers atop strawberry little cupcakes with whipped vanilla buttercream.

Gourmet Puffed Rice Treats - Peppermint Candy, Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped, Cookies and Cream, and Strawberry Malt.

Chocolate Little Cakes topped with vanilla buttercream and "50" little sugar cookies.

Mint Dipped Fudge Brownies and Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Blondies.

I made these with leftover stuff from another order and gave them to my daughter in her lunch. They were a big hit! Chocolate Little Cakes with mint buttercream, mini sugar cookies, and Chocolate "S" initials.

One Charming Party.

You have all heard me talk about the Domestic Goddess. She is an amazing party planner, so talented! Beautiful to every last detail! Her party planning company is called One Charming Party. She has a new website and party blog. Check it out here. And make sure you click the link to her website from her blog. I recently did some desserts for her for a first birthday party. She has photos on her blog, professional photos, not the kind of photos that I take ;) Check it out and enjoy!

New! Midweek Treats!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know that I will now be offering “Midweek Treats”. I always have people asking me if they can order just a few of something, but normally I have a minimum of 2 dozen. These midweek treats will be small boxes of 4 – 8 treats and they will be offered every Wednesday. No minimum on the amount of boxes you order. I think it’s the perfect way to brighten up the middle of the week!

This week I will be offering what I call “The Ice cream Parlor Collection”. This will be a box of 4 cupcakes inspired by some classic ice cream treats – in honor of this beautiful summer weather that we are finally enjoying! The box will include:

1 Orange Dreamsicle Cupcake – Moist Orange Cake with an Orange-Vanilla Swirl Frosting
1 Mint Chocolate Chip Cupcake – Chocolate Cake topped with Rich Mint Buttercream and Mini Chocolate Chips
1 Neopolitan Cupcake – Chocolate and Vanilla Cake topped with Fresh Strawberry Buttercream (Pictured above)
1 Cookies n Cream Cupcake – Chocolate Cake topped with Cookies n Cream Buttercream

The boxes will be $4/each. Please have your orders in by Tuesday night at midnight and the treats will be ready for pick-up on Wednesday after 4:00 PM.

Thanks!
Dusti

New Menu Addition.

I have had several requests for mini cheesecakes, so this holiday weekend I decided to give them a try. It took me a couple tries to get them right - the first time I made them the crust wasn't moist enough and the cheese cake wasn't thick enough, but in the end we figured it out and they turned out délicieux!

I topped them with fresh berries and an apricot glaze. The picture isn't the best, as I took it whilst running out the door, late for a 4th of July BBQ, but you get the idea! They will be priced at $36 for 2 dozen, with a 2 dozen minimum.

And on a side note...I think I have completely spoiled my children for life. There were perfect rice krispie treats, amazing chocolate chip bar cookies, and yummy sugar cookies also present at this BBQ. But no. My kids needed the fancy shmancy cheesecakes. They would settle for nothing less. At one point I looked over while I was chatting with some friends and Thomas (my 2 year old) was double fisting it with berries and cheesecake remnants all over his face. Not good. Not good at all. :)
